Fluffy chocolate buns with a short rise time

Have you ever wondered how to make delicious chocolate buns that will delight your loved ones? Then we’ve got just the recipe for you! Today we’re sharing simple instructions that will have you whipping up fluffy yeast rolls with an irresistible chocolate filling in less than an hour. Perfect for cosy breakfasts or as a sweet treat between meals.

Before we get started, here’s a little tip: it’s best to use baking-safe chocolate drops, as they won’t melt during baking and the sweet rolls will be perfect. Baking-safe chocolate drops are especially suitable for baked goods and ensure that the chocolate is evenly distributed in your buns.

Another trick to make your chocolate buns shine: Brush them generously with milk before baking. This will give them a beautiful golden brown colour and make them extra crispy. So, ready to turn your kitchen into baking magic? Then let’s get started right away!

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together well in a bowl (except the chocolate drops) and knead into a homogeneous dough.

  2. Leave the dough to rise at room temperature for 15 minutes and then knead again. Knead the chocolate chips into the dough and form 9 dough pieces of approximately the same size.

  3. Leave the dough pieces to rise again for 15 minutes in a warm place.

  4. Just before baking, brush the rolls with a little milk (or egg yolk) so that they turn a nice golden brown.

Bake it

  1. Preheat the oven to 175° top/bottom heat. This can also be done at the same time as the last step.

  2. Bake the rolls in the middle of the oven for approx. 15 minutes to give them a nice golden brown colour.

  3. Leave to cool slightly before serving and sprinkle with icing sugar if desired.
