Sometimes it simply has to be done quickly. No more bread in the house and dinner is approaching? Then this recipe for a very simple spelt loaf with sunflower seeds is the solution!
With a very short rising time, the bread can be prepared quickly. Thanks to the sunflower seeds, the bread tastes strong and crunchy. If you no longer have sunflower seeds in the house, you can alternatively use other nuts, kernels or seeds or leave them out altogether. This way, the basic recipe consists of extra few ingredients, so that the dough can also be prepared when you don’t have much in the house.
The super short rising time makes this express bread ideal for stressful days when you simply don’t have much time. With just a few ingredients and a few simple steps, you’ll have fresh, fragrant bread on the table in no time!
Mix flour, yeast and salt in a large bowl.
Add lukewarm water and knead the dough well.
Mix the sunflower seeds into the dough.
Depending on taste, a few sunflower seeds can be sprinkled over the dough for decoration after it has rested.
Line a square loaf tin with baking paper or butter the edges so that the bread can be easily removed from the tin after baking.
Leave the dough to rise in a cold oven for 30 minutes and then heat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat.
Turn off the oven after 60 minutes and, depending on how crispy you want the bread, take it straight out of the oven or leave it to bake for a few more minutes.
